Presentation

letral is a biannual and bilingual electronic journal. Its goal is to provide quality scientific space for the research, development and divulgation of Latin American and Spanish literary studies.

This publication subdivides into five sections, which hope to approach literature in Spanish, in its multiple manifestations, from diverse theoretical perspectives and disciplines. This partition obtains from the plural, open and innovative spirit that impels the journal. The section on “Transatlantic Studies” constitutes the core of LETRAL. It is comprised of scientific work that treats Latin American and Spanish literature from the theoretical perspective that gives the section its title. The section “Miscellanea” includes scientific articles on Latin American and Spanish literature from diverse angles. “Cultural agents” is an initiative of Harvard University dedicated to promote the arts and humanities as social recourses. In special cases, agents identify, investigate and reflect on the relation between the aesthetics and their social effects. On the hand, the entry “Cross-Sectional” will embrace works of fiction, creative writing and biographies written in Spanish, as well as essays from any discipline on Latin America and its relationship with Spain. The two final sections are “Interviews” and “Reviews”.

Funding for letral comes from the Ministerio de Educación y Ciencia de España and from the Consejería de Innovación, Ciencia y Empresa de la Junta de Andalucía.
